So time for another update on my online dating adventure. Today, I'm going to give you my top ten highlights from this journey so far: in other words, things that made me go "hmmm".
10. Men who say they want a girl who is physically fit. No, you want a girl who is skinny... just say it. I have a friend who is skinny, but I could beat her in any fitness test. And as much as it stings, I appreciate the guys who say what they really mean on their profiles.
9. I'm still fascinated by the weirdos that are out there. I got an email from a guy a couple weeks ago that was creepy. To give you an idea- here's the first couple lines: "Hi tantalizingly titillating lady, your profile and photos stood out like a tropical flower that is majestically beautiful and elegantly dressed in a desert of water-deprived weeds. Obviously you are clearly a woman of a different pedigree. After reading your profile, it seems you have a fire and desire for life's simple pleasures, yet you are a professional woman who is intellectually endowed. After viewing your photos, I see you have been blessed with an abundance of beauty and radiant eyes. You unsearchable beauty led me to email you." It goes on... and on... and on.
8. I'm always fascinated how many guys are really close minded to date outside of their race. You would probably be surprised with how many profiles I find of men who don't want to date black women.
7. I had one guy wink at me... he wasn't really what I'm looking for in many different ways, but I'm trying to be open right? So I wink back. (Winking is the easy way to let someone know you're interested). He then emails me and says: "I'd have to think you'd rather be talking to someone younger and better looking. In fact, that's my recommendation for you." Really? That's how you try and get a girl? So I just thought to myself: "Let me take him up on his recommendation."
6. I've found myself talking in Match terminology in regular conversations... weird. The other day, I was describing a guy to a friend and I said to her: oh he's athletic and toned (which is one of the Match body type descriptions) Maybe I'm spending too much time on this site!
5. One guy makes it VERY clear throughout his profile that he's looking for a mom for his 2 kids (he's a widower). And I think there is a picture of his deceased wife on his profile page.
4. There are alot of creepy old men who are still winking at me. My oldest so far? 66.
3. I was in a frustrated place last Wednesday with my online "dating" b/c nothing had really changed since my last blog. Not only have I not been actually dating, I wasn't talking to anyone even though I have been winking and sending out emails constantly. The thing that really surprised me: I was still "ok" with it... I talked out my frustrations with some girlfriends and moved on.
2. After having my frustrated moment and moving on, my communication with guys on Match has quadrupled. Still no dates- but since last Wednesday, 2 guys have winked at me and 1 guy emailed me that I would be interested in; 2 guys that I winked at winked back and I've been emailing regularly with one of them so far; and 1 guy IM'd me and we had an hour long chat.
1. When it rains, it pours... Hopefully some of this online communicating leads to online dating... and then I'll have more stories to blog about :)

7 and 5 creep me out the most.
I'm still laughing about #9. Who really talks like that?
Oh I love online dating. I'm on Match.com right now and have been through the same things. I do also really love when guys are aged 35 and looking for women 20-25. Oh these guys never learn
this is so funny! I am happy you are keeping it light and not getting too frustrated, Roxy. I mean dating is supposed to be fun, right?
You are hysterical!!!
